Acharya Pandit Shri Kant Mishra, M.D., M.S., is one of the founders of the Integrative Medicine program at Keck School of Medicine at USC. He is also a Professor of Neurology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and serves as the Director of Neuromuscular Disorders at the VA in greater Los Angeles and Olive View – UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles, California. Professionally, Dr. Mishra founded and served as president of American Academy of Ayurveda (AAAM) and scholastically he was a Gold medalist in Ayurvedacharya and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (A.B.M.S.) with a Diploma in Yoga from the prestigious Banaras Hindu University Varanasi UP India, one of the most prestigious universities in the region. Dr. Mishra’s work has been a valuable resource in promoting scientific collaboration between the NIH’s National Center of Complementary, Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) and Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) in India. He has organized important and influential meetings in the U.S.A. and India for evidence-based work on Indian systems of medicine, including Yoga and Ayurveda. An expert on the concepts of Patanjali and a firm believer in the principles of Classical Ashtanga Yoga, Dr. Mishra has published several evidence-based articles in peer reviewed journals on Yoga and Ayurveda and their influence on human well-being.
